Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Baltimore, MD (Fully On-Site)

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Position Type: Temporary (3-5 Month Assignment)

Schedule: Full-Time

We are partnering with a well-established organization in the Baltimore area seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support their accounting team during a temporary assignment. This role is best suited for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys managing high-volume invoice processing, vendor communications, and maintaining accurate financial records in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage vendor invoices while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Monitor and respond to vendor and supplier inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
• Review invoices against supporting documentation such as purchase orders, receipts, and approvals.
• Coordinate invoice approval workflows and maintain follow-up procedures to ensure prompt processing.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, pricing issues, and payment concerns.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances.
• Maintain and update vendor records within the accounting system.
• Assist with mail distribution and other departmental administrative functions.
• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure efficient accounts payable operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Experience in a high-volume accounting environment preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Professional customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Self-motivated team player capable of working independently when needed.
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements, if applicable.
